The wait is over. The Jaguar F-Pace, undoubtedly the most anticipated SUV of 2016, is about to be launched in South Africa; and I am excited to be among the media that will welcome it onto our roads.
Much has been said about the first ever SUV from the luxury car maker and having seen many pictures of it over the past few months, it is easy to see that the F-Pace looks like it has all the DNA which makes a Jaguar a ferocious feline on wheels, even if this is an SUV; most noticeable being the obvious visual hallmarks of the sexy F-TYPE which come through quite strongly even at a glance. It’s pronounced rear haunches, ‘teardrop’ shape and tapered roof-line all work in unison to give the F-Pace a look of sporty elegance and I imagine I will use words such as luxurious, premium and sophisticated to describe it when it comes time to give feedback.
Of course Jaguar is renowned for making sumptuously comfortable cars so I am not at all worried about what to expect from the F-Pace in terms of its interior but to be honest, my eagerness to get behind the wheel and put my pedicured foot to the pedal is beyond description. The Jaguar F-Pace will no doubt boast a range of powerful petrol and diesel engines as well as the auto-maker’s prized Ingenium technology which we have already experienced in Jaguar models launched over the past few years and the JaguarDrive Control system will give quick gear shifts and offer an agile exhilarating drive.
All that remains to be done is to meet the newcomer this Friday and enjoy putting it through it’s em… paces!
