The new BMW 740e launches later this week and our Editor, Vuyi Mpofu has the privilege of attending the event.
The 7-Series is of course an impressive vehicle and we expect that the new addition to BMW’s range of elective vehicles will not disappoint. Having already experienced the BMW eDrive drive system technology developed for BMW i cars, we expect the 740e iPerformance will draw its power from a combination of BMW TwinPower Turbo technology and an efficient electric motor.
Being a BMW, the 740e will certainly offer unparalleled luxury, comfort and top-level driving pleasure, all the while consuming just a sip or two of fuel.
“A few years ago when I first learnt that BMW would also start producing electric vehicles my heart quite literally stopped, “Ms Mpofu says. “I honestly couldn’t conceptualize what a combination of BMW Driving Dynamics and hybrid would be like to drive, particularly as the only other electric cars around at the time, didn’t seem to go very fast, and well – going fast is synonymous with BMW! Of course my initial fears evaporated quickly after getting behind the wheel of the i3 and i8 and I am looking forward to getting behind the wheel of yet another extraordinary iPerformance car.” she chuckled.
