For many years, Porsche has been working together with the Salesians of Don Bosco to provide disadvantaged young adults in the Philippines with automotive service training.
Now, thanks to the success of that initiative, Porsche will soon be rolling out a similar model right here in South Africa, and our Editor, Vuyi Mpofu will be attending the press briefing.
“In a developing country such as ours, projects like this play a vital role in uplifting communities and are an opportunity for the youth to provide legitimate financial support for themselves and their families,” Vuyi said. “Those who are selected for the program will most likely be first in line for long term career prospects within Porsche and that’s an incredible bullet point to have on one’s resume!” she added.
The training project is set to launch in July 2017 in Cape Town, and further details will be shared at the Press Conference, which will also be attended by:
- Dr Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG
- Toby Venter, CEO of Porsche South Africa
- Uwe Bothur, Member of the Board of Don Bosco Mondo e.V
